Our Story

Steve and Elyse meet on October 17th 2007 while planting bulbs on Temple Square. Steve is very impressed with Elyse's professional bulb planting skills and knows that he needs to get to know this girl better. Elyse is talking to friend of Steve. Steve enters conversation. Elyse says, "I served my mission in Hungary." Steve replies, "My brother is in Hungary, we need to talk. Can I get your number?" Steve and Elyse go on first date. First date was wonderful, but ended prematurely with Elyse trying not to hurl in Steve's car. Steve was so impressed he asked Elyse out for date #2. What a guy. One month later they hold hands. One month later they talk about getting married and set a date. January 27th 2008, ring is dropped in gutter...I mean, placed nicely on Elyse's ring finger. FYI, Steve was not nervous, the ring jumped out of the box...seriously! Elyse said yes, because how could she say no after that performance, and wedding bells were heard in the near, or distant future. Wonderful engagement where hours of engaging phone conversations took place. Steve and Elyse are greatly anticipating August 12th. August 12th 2008, family, and closest friends gather at Salt Lake Temple, trying to be original, to celebrate the beginning of a wonderful life together! -Told by Elyse Sears
